Murano is an island located in the Venetian Lagoon, famous for its glassblowing tradition. To get there, you can take a vaporetto (water bus) from Venice. The journey takes about 20 minutes and costs around €7.

Once you arrive in Murano, you can visit one of the many glass factories and watch the artisans at work. Some of the most famous ones include Seguso, Venini, and Barovier & Toso. You can also visit the Glass Museum (Museo del Vetro) to learn more about the history of glassmaking in Murano. The museum is open daily from 10am to 6pm and admission costs €10.

In addition to glass, Murano is also known for its beautiful churches. The most notable ones include the Basilica dei Santi Maria e Donato, which features stunning Byzantine mosaics, and the Chiesa di San Pietro Martire, which houses works by famous Venetian artists like Tintoretto and Giovanni Bellini.

If you have time, you can also explore the rest of the Venetian Lagoon.
