Heimaey is a small island located off the southern coast of Iceland and is part of the Vestmannaeyjar archipelago. Eldheimar is a museum located on Heimaey that tells the story of the island's volcanic eruption in 1973.

The museum is open daily from 10am to 6pm from May to September, and from 11am to 4pm from October to April. Admission is 1,800 ISK for adults and 900 ISK for children aged 7-17. Children under 7 are free. The official website for Eldheimar is http://eldheimar.is/en/.

In addition to visiting Eldheimar, visitors to Heimaey can also explore the island's natural beauty, including hiking to the top of the Eldfell volcano and taking a boat tour to see the puffin colonies. There are also several restaurants and shops on the island.

Boat tours to see the puffin colonies depart daily from Heimaey harbor from May to August. The tour lasts about an hour and costs around 3,000 ISK per person. Hiking to the top of Eldfell volcano takes about 1-2 hours and can be done independently or as part of a guided tour.
