Ginkaku-ji, also known as the Silver Pavilion, is a Zen temple located in Kyoto, Japan. The temple was originally built in 1482 by shogun Ashikaga Yoshimasa as a retirement villa, but was converted into a temple after his death.

The temple is open to visitors daily from 8:30am to 5:00pm, with admission costing 500 yen for adults and 300 yen for children. The official website for Ginkaku-ji is http://www.shokoku-ji.jp/en/ginkakuji/.

In the surrounding area, visitors can also visit the Philosopher's Path, a scenic walkway that runs along a canal and is lined with cherry blossom trees. The path is open all day and is free to visit. Another nearby attraction is the Nanzen-ji Temple, which features a large gate and sprawling gardens. Nanzen-ji is open daily from 8:40am to 5:00pm, with admission costing 500 yen for adults and 300 yen for children.
