The island of Itsukushima, located in Japan, is home to the iconic Itsukushima Shrine and Mount Misen, a popular hiking destination.

Mount Misen can be accessed via a cable car that operates from 9:00am to 5:00pm daily, with a round trip ticket costing 1,800 yen (approximately $16 USD). Alternatively, visitors can opt to hike to the summit, which takes approximately 2-3 hours.

At the top of Mount Misen, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area and explore the various temples and shrines located on the mountain. The Daisho-in Temple, located at the base of Mount Misen, is also worth a visit.

The Itsukushima Shrine, located on the island, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and famous for its "floating" torii gate. The shrine is open from 6:30am to 5:00pm daily and admission is 300 yen (approximately $3 USD).

Other attractions on the island include the Five-Story Pagoda, Momijidani Park, and the Miyajima History and Folklore Museum.
