Skógar is a small village located in the south of Iceland, known for its beautiful landscapes and hiking trails. One of the most popular hikes in the area is Stakkholtsgjá, a narrow and steep canyon that leads to a waterfall.

The entrance to Stakkholtsgjá is located just off the Ring Road, about 2.5 miles east of Skógar. The hike takes about 1-2 hours roundtrip and is moderately difficult. There is a small fee of 500 ISK (around $4 USD) per person to enter the canyon.

Other attractions in the area include the Skógafoss waterfall, the Skógar Folk Museum, and the hiking trail to the Fimmvörðuháls pass. The museum is open daily from May to September, from 9am to 6pm. The Skógafoss waterfall is accessible 24 hours a day, and the Fimmvörðuháls trail takes about 8-10 hours to hike roundtrip.
