The Colossus of Rhodes was a statue of the Greek god Helios, erected in the city of Rhodes on the Greek island of the same name by Chares of Lindos in 280 BC. Unfortunately, the statue was destroyed by an earthquake in 226 BC and no traces of it remain today.

However, visitors to Rhodes can still explore the area where the statue once stood. The site is located in the Mandraki Harbor and there is a small park and a statue of a deer, which is said to mark the spot where the Colossus once stood.

There is no admission fee to visit the site and it is open to the public 24 hours a day.

In the surrounding area, visitors can explore the medieval Old Town of Rhodes, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Old Town is home to numerous historic buildings, including the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes and the Street of the Knights.

Entrance to the Palace of the Grand Master costs 10 euros and it is open daily from 8:00am to 8:00pm.
