The Mönchsberg is a mountain in Salzburg, Austria that offers beautiful views of the city and surrounding areas. There are several ways to reach the top of the mountain, including hiking trails and a funicular railway.

The funicular railway, called the MönchsbergAufzug, runs from the Old Town to the top of the mountain and operates daily from 8:30am to 7:30pm. The price for a round-trip ticket is €3.50 for adults and €1.50 for children.

Once at the top of the mountain, visitors can enjoy a variety of attractions, including the Museum der Moderne Salzburg, which features contemporary art and stunning views of the city. The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 6pm, with extended hours until 9pm on Wednesdays.

Other attractions on the Mönchsberg include the Hohensalzburg Fortress, which is one of the largest medieval castles in Europe. The fortress is open daily from 9am to 5pm, with extended hours until 7pm in July and August.

In addition to the attractions on the Mönchsberg, visitors can also explore the nearby Old Town of Salzburg, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Old Town is home to many historic buildings and landmarks, including Mozart's birthplace and the Salzburg Cathedral.
