Hiking trails are open from late June to early October, weather permitting. The easiest trail, Tatamidaira Course, takes about 90 minutes to reach the summit. The more challenging trail, Kengamine Course, takes about 4-5 hours. There is no admission fee to hike the mountain.

In the surrounding area, visitors can also enjoy the Norikura Skyline, a scenic drive that takes you up to an elevation of 2,700 meters. The road is open from mid-April to mid-November, and the toll is 2,500 yen per car. There are several lookout points along the way, including the Daisekkei viewpoint and the Ushidome Pond.
