The Roya I Kitchen was built for the third
Christiansborg Palacewhich was completed
in 1928. The kitchen was used for preparing
food for several hundred guests when the
Royal Family held official gala dinners in the
Great Hall upstairs.
The Royal Kitchen is equipped and fur-
nished as it was in King Christian X`s day.
Here you can follow the preparations for a
gala dinner to mark the king`s 25th Jubilee
on 15th May 1937, which was the largest
royal banquet to be held for 90 years.
When the RoyalFamily nowadays holds gala
dinners at Christiansborg Palace, the food
is prepared elsewhere. Follow the food as
it makes its way through the palace by
watching the film in the Flower Room, a
room that is still in use today.
