Silver River Stargazing is a stargazing experience located in Lake Tekapo, New Zealand. The experience includes a guided tour of the night sky with telescopes and expert commentary from astronomy guides. The tour takes place in a private observatory located in the heart of the Aoraki Mackenzie Dark Sky Reserve, one of the world's darkest skies.
The tour runs every night, weather permitting, and lasts for 2 hours. The cost is NZD $89 per adult and NZD $39 for children under 16 years old. Reservations are required and can be made on their official website.
In the surrounding area, visitors can also visit the Church of the Good Shepherd, a historic church with stunning views of Lake Tekapo. The church is open daily from 9am to 5pm. Another popular attraction is the Tekapo Springs Hot Pools, a relaxing way to unwind after a day of exploring. The hot pools are open daily from 10am to 9pm.
