Chichen Itza is one of the most popular archaeological sites in Mexico, and the Venus Platform is one of its most intriguing attractions. Unfortunately, there is no official website for Chichen Itza, but you can find information about visiting on various travel websites.

The Venus Platform is located in the northern part of the site and is named after the planet Venus, which was very important to the Maya. The platform is a raised area with a staircase leading up to it, and it was used for astronomical observations and ceremonies.

The entrance fee to Chichen Itza is around $22 USD, and the site is open from 8 am to 5 pm every day. However, the Venus Platform is only accessible during the Equinoxes (around March 20 and September 22) when the sun creates a shadow on the platform that looks like a serpent descending down the staircase.

If you're visiting Chichen Itza, there are also other nearby attractions to see. The Ik Kil Cenote is a beautiful natural swimming hole located about 3 km from Chichen Itza, and it's open from 8 am to 5 pm every day. You can also visit the town of Valladolid, which is about 45 minutes away and has a charming colonial center with colorful buildings and a beautiful cathedral.
