Visitors can also take a dip in the nearby Oropendola waterfall, which is located about 3 km from the ranger station.
Other nearby attractions include the La Cangreja waterfall, located about 9 km from the ranger station, and the town of Liberia, which is about 25 km away and features numerous restaurants and shops. The La Cangreja waterfall is open daily from 8am to 4pm and admission costs ₡2,000 for foreigners and ₡1,000 for locals.
