The Cahuita National Park is a protected area located on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. The Puerto Vargas sector is one of the park's two entrances and is located approximately 5 kilometers south of Cahuita town. The park is open every day from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm and admission costs $8 for foreign adults and $2 for nationals.
The park offers a variety of activities including hiking, snorkeling, and wildlife viewing. Visitors can hike through the park's trails, which offer stunning views of the coastline and the park's diverse flora and fauna. Snorkeling is also a popular activity in Cahuita, as the park is home to one of the largest coral reefs in Costa Rica.
Outside of the park, visitors can explore the town of Cahuita, which is known for its Afro-Caribbean culture and laid-back atmosphere. There are also a number of nearby beaches, including Playa Negra and Playa Chiquita, which are popular for swimming and surfing.
